For 2021, the AMRS will take place across six rounds beginning in Sydney before heading to Morgan Park, Winton, Queensland Raceway, Wakefield Park and The Bend. Series Manager Matt Baragwanath says he is thrilled to open the season with such a spectacular event.

“We’re looking forward to round one of AMRS and we’ve assembled a vast array of fantastic machinery for this event, headlined by a spectacular group of Prod Sports/Super GT cars. We are also very excited that the PROMAXX TA2 Muscle Car Series is present as one of our feature support categories, bringing a large group of cars and they’ll put on a thrilling show in their feature 30-minute Saturday night race.”

“Also supporting this round, we are very pleased to be providing the next generation of high-level drivers with the National Formula Ford Series and Australian Formula 3 Championship which are both hotly contested open wheel categories which have provided great racing for many years.”

“There’s also a brilliant assembly of production cars with the newly formed Motorsport Sales Enduro Champs and of course Stock Cars Australia will bring their usual variety of muscle car machinery and lots of V8 noise. Also supporting the event are the Miniature Race Car crew who always enjoy stretching the legs of their little cars and little motors!”

TA2 will have a total of four races across the weekend in a sprint race format that is headlined by the 30-minute night race set to start 9PM AEDT on Saturday night. Category manager, Craig Denyer is excited for the weekend, with a strong field of drivers set to take to the track.

“To have a complete field under lights for the first time will be very special, we’ve got 20 cars and some very competitive drivers lining up for it. A number of championship contenders from previous years returning but some exciting new prospects coming in as well, I think this is certainly an event we’ve all been looking forward to quite a lot,” Denyer said.

Front runners in TA2 are likely to include former champ Russell Wright, along with Murray Kent, Tim Shaw and Sydney drivers Michael Coulter and Zach Loscialpo.

After a COVID-induced cancellation in 2020, the Australian Formula Ford Championship will kick back into gear. The category continues to be recognised as the country’s premier junior development category, as demonstrated by the 2019 champ, Angelo Mouzouris, claiming a pole position in the opening round of the Dunlop Super2 Series at Bathurst on the weekend.

The main title protagonists for 2021 are likely to be regional NSW drivers Tom Sargent and Cody Burcher.

Former champions Chad Cotton and Craig White are the most prominent entries in the Miniature Race Cars, while Brett Mitchell will be aiming to continue his front-running form in Stock Cars.

Spectators are welcome on both Saturday and Sunday with multiple viewing options available; tickets must be purchased online via https://amrseries.com.au/tickets/
