Rising Australian racer Daniel Quimby will use the remainder of his 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia campaign to support Race For A Cure and Breast Cancer Trials, with the bonnet of his Porsche turning pink to help raise awareness and funds for life-saving breast cancer research.

17-year-old Australian racing driver Daniel Quimby is proud to announce that he will support Race For A Cure for the remainder of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia season, using his Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car to help shine a spotlight on breast cancer research.

This weekends Carrera Cup appearance, Daniel’s Porsche will feature a distinctive pink bonnet carrying Race For A Cure branding, creating a highly visible symbol of support on one of Australian motorsport’s biggest stages.

Race For A Cure is an annual initiative created by Ben, Toula and Michael Kavich, combining the family’s passion for motorsport with a cause that is deeply personal to them.

Having personally experienced the impact of breast cancer, the Kavich family established Race For A Cure to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Trials, helping support clinical trials aimed at finding new and better treatments and prevention strategies for people affected by breast cancer.

Since its establishment, Race For A Cure, with the help of naming rights partner Thryv, has raised more than

$300,000 for Breast Cancer Trials

The initiative has become closely connected with Australian motorsport through Ben and Michael’s participation in the Bathurst 6 Hour, with 2026 marking their 10th year competing in the event since launching Race For A Cure.

This year delivered an extraordinary chapter in that story when Ben and Michael Kavich, together with Supercars driver Thomas Randle, won the 2026 Bathurst 6 Hour outright.

For Daniel, supporting Race For A Cure provides an opportunity to use his growing profile in Australian motorsport to help take that message to an even wider audience.

“I’m extremely proud to be supporting Race For A Cure for the remainder of the Carrera Cup season,” Daniel said.

“Once I learnt more about what Ben, Toula have built over the past 10 years, and the reason behind it, I really wanted to get involved.”

“Motorsport gives us an incredible platform and I think we have a responsibility to use that platform for more than just racing.”

“Turning the bonnet of the Porsche pink will certainly make the car stand out, but more importantly I hope it starts conversations. I want people to see the car, ask what Race For A Cure is, learn about the work Breast Cancer Trials is doing and hopefully get behind the cause.”

“Ben and Michael have shown what’s possible when you combine motorsport with a genuine purpose. To see them win the Bathurst 6 Hour this year with Thomas Randle after everything they’ve put into Race For A Cure made their story even more special.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most significant health challenges facing Australian families. Around 56 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer every day – approximately one person every 25 minutes.

Breast Cancer Trials conducts Australia’s only independent clinical trials research program, bringing together more than 900 researchers across hospitals and medical institutions throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The organisation’s research focuses on finding new and better treatments and prevention strategies, with the ultimate goal of improving and saving the lives of people affected by breast cancer.

For the Kavich family, having another young Australian driver carry the Race For A Cure message into Porsche Carrera Cup represents another opportunity to broaden the reach of the initiative.

“We’re incredibly excited to have Daniel join us in supporting Race For A Cure,” Ben Kavich said.

“Racing has given us a platform to tell our family’s story and, most importantly, to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Trials.”

“Seeing the Race For A Cure pink colours on Daniel’s Porsche in Carrera Cup will help us take that message to another audience and continue building on what has now been an incredible 10-year journey.”

“Daniel is a talented young driver with a big future ahead of him, and we’re proud to have him helping us in the race to find new and better treatments for breast cancer.”

The pink Race For A Cure bonnet will remain on Daniel’s Porsche throughout his remaining 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia appearances.

Daniel and his team will also use race-weekend appearances, social media and digital content to encourage motorsport fans, teams, sponsors and supporters to learn more about Race For A Cure and donate directly to Breast Cancer Trials.
