RENEWED CONFIDENCE FOR O’KEEFFE AFTER PRODUCTIVE TEST

Defending Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia Champion Dylan O’Keeffe is carrying renewed confidence into this weekend’s third round of the series at Queensland Raceway, following a productive test day at the Ipswich venue last week.

While the Dexion-backed driver is yet to win a race in 2026, he sits third in the points by virtue of his trademark consistency in the opening two rounds. But he feels there are gains to be made when it comes to outright performance.

“While we’ve accumulated solid points, we haven’t had the absolute speed to be fighting for race victories, so last week’s test was an important reset for me and the GWR Australia team,” O’Keeffe said.

“With the introduction of ABS to our cars this year, the required setup philosophy has changed massively.

“At the test day, we learned some useful lessons and unlocked some performance, as well as understanding how to make the car look after its tyres over a longer stint.

“However, a lot of Queensland-based teams have an enormous amount of experience at Queensland Raceway and understand how to adapt to evolving track conditions, so we need to bring our A-game this weekend.”

The Darwin round marked the first use of the new-for-2026 double enduro Carrera Cup format, something O’Keeffe feels is suited to his driving style.

“I’ve always prided myself on my consistency over a long race distance, and it definitely worked to our advantage in Darwin – I was able to bank some valuable points with fourth in Race 2, even though we didn’t quite have the pace of the leaders,” he said.

“The Queensland Raceway circuit has some big braking zones and is one of the easier tracks for overtaking, so I’m expecting some entertaining racing this weekend.”

Practice will be held on Friday, with qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday; qualifying and both races will be shown live on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo.
