TOUGH WEEKEND FOR RED BULL HOLDEN CONTINUED
“It was obviously a tough weekend. Tenth in the points overall is a lot further down than we would’ve liked, but we’re not making up any excuses” said Red Bull Holden Racing Teams Jamie Whincup in his post event media, the team has sent through his thoughts along with Shane van Gisbergen.

“It was obviously a tough weekend. Tenth in the points overall is a lot further down than we would’ve liked, but we’re not making up any excuses – we just weren’t fast enough this weekend. Secondly, not enough cars ran soft tyres last night, so we were pretty much shot when we rocked up to the track today. We want to keep moving forward with the car, we made some changes for the first race today which weren’t as good, but we found something in the car for the second race that made it much more competitive. That gives us a bit of confidence going into Darwin. It was great to see fans back in the stands. I’m sure they all enjoyed watching all that horsepower, hearing the noise and smelling the burnt rubber of Supercars – that’s what it’s all about. I’m looking forward to the warm weather in Darwin, but I’ll only enjoy it if we’re competitive, and that will be our focus over the next few weeks.”

“We finished the weekend fourth overall on points, so it wasn’t the worst weekend for us, but certainly from the outside it may look like we had a tough weekend. Certainly, not getting a result last night hurt us, but I think we made the most of what we had today. I’m really looking forward to Darwin to be honest, but it will be tough racing two weekends in a row. We’ll have three weeks to think about how we can get the cars a bit quicker, then arrive with a good car from the get-go. It was good to have the fans back in Sydney. The grandstand was obviously as full as we’re allowed, but it certainly improved the atmosphere out there.”
