MW Motorsport has continued its strong start to the Dunlop Super2 Series, with Bryce Fullwood picking up both race wins and maintaining first and second in the championship standings after Round 3 at the Townsville 400.
#16 Middy’s Data & Electrical driver Bryce Fullwood qualified a strong second for Race 1, and was then promoted to win the opening 21 lap encounter following a post-race penalty for Thomas Randle.
Fullwood qualified in third for Race 2, only 0.05 away from pole. He moved to second early before making his way past Supercars regular Tim Blanchard into Turn 2 on the safety car restart and drove away to take another win and extend his championship lead to 133 points over MW Motorsport team mate Zane Goddard.
#28 BDG Architects racer Zane Goddard scored another strong points haul, picking up fourth in Race 1 and fifth in Race 2 to pick up fifth overall for the round.
Goddard’s results saw him hold second in the standings behind Fullwood, maintaining a MW Motorsport 1-2 in the Super 2 Series after three rounds.
Youngster Tyler Everingham continued his rapid rise in Super 2. He qualified 17th for Race 1, before avoiding the chaos in front of him and charged through to eighth, his best Super 2 result to date.
His speed improved again in Race 2, qualifying in 10th and finishing in 11th in his first visit to the streets of Townsville.
The next round of the Dunlop Super2 Series heads to Ipswich’s Queensland Raceway, supporting the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship on July 26-28.

“Overall it was a really strong weekend for us and the MW Motorsport team here in Townsville,” said Bryce Fullwood.
“We qualified second for Saturday’s race, and battled hard with Tim Blanchard and Kurt Kostecki to cross the line in second but was later promoted to first.
“We qualified third for Sunday’s race and I made amends for my bad start in Race 1. I slotted into second behind Blanchard before the race went under safety car.
“It was raining into Turn 2 and we were all on slick tyres I made the move on him and went on to take the race win and the round win.”

“To get another top five for the round was a really good result and another solid points haul,” said Zane Goddard.
“We didn’t quite have the speed to contend with Bryce this weekend but we’re still in a pretty comfortable spot in the championship and we’ll hope to come back stronger at Queensland Raceway.”
Tyler Everingham
#27 MW Motorsport driver
“A lack of experience and knowledge definitely hurt me early in the weekend, as it was my first time on the Townsville street circuit,” said Everingham.
“We moved forward in Race 1 and avoided the carnage in front of us, so we were gifted some positions and I also passed five cars on track which showed our progress in speed and finished eighth
“We made further improvements on Sunday and qualified 10th, three-tenths faster than I did on Saturday.
“The track was had both wet and dry areas which made the conditions tricky and got caught up in the pack, but fought it out and finished 11th.
“We’re definitely seeing the gains we’ve made from our previous rounds, it is my rookie season after all so the aim is to use this year as a big learning experience.”
