ARC POCKET ROCKETS BACK ON TRACK
We just love the Aussie Racing Cars and they as always feature in our glossy magazine with wrap ups from their events and other stories, they are big supporters of Velocity Magazine, and us of them. This weekend its all about the Drive the NT Aussie Race Car Challenge at Hidden Valley.
28 pocket rockets as they get called so often are set to hit the track this weekend at Hidden Valley in Darwin, its been almost two months since their last hit out in Tasmania, this will be round three.
There are some wily characters set to join them again in the far north, Paul the Dude Morris is back in the Sean Rose Motorsport prepared Paul Morris Motorsport Nissan Altima. Last years Champion Joel Heinrich is back for another run the #1 Osborn’s Transport / CR International Holden Cruze, another car helped out by the team at Sean Rose Motorsport, in fact they are running 9 cars this weekend.

The other big ARC team is of course Western Sydney Motorsport, along with their own 5 Mustangs they are also fielding cars for Jeff Watters and Matt Nolan.
And then the field is full of the “privateers” for want of a better description, like Motorsport 25 – Castrol Racing’s Reece Chapman in his Camaro. Charlotte Poynting is back in her Mustang and is the only lady in the class this weekend.
Pushing hard again will be the likes of Kel Treseder in the KKP Motorsport prepared Camaro along with Josh Anderson in the RDA Brakes/Perenso Camaro.
This event also sees the brothers’ Dontas joining the fray, again in Camaro’s, Troy in the McDonalds Restaurants branding and Craig in the Nippys / Villis / Bosch car.
Continuing the tradition the class includes quite a few youngsters in the field, one very new driver is Kody Garland, fresh from karting, he has surprised quite a few regular drivers by running up in the top 10 in his first year, this will be his third ever round in the Motor Traders’ NSW Nissan Altima, he’ll be one to watch.
Aussie Racing Cars category own Tony Quinn is back in his Local Legends Beef Jerky Mustang and his son Kent is joining the class again in a Toyota Aurion.
There is a sweep of other cars running of course and we will feature them on Velocity over the weekend.
