Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds has returned to the Supercars podium with a hard-fought second place in Race 14 at the Tasmania Super440, highlighting a strong Saturday overall for Team 18 at Symmons Plains Raceway.
Drivers were greeted with tricky damp conditions for the opening qualifying session of the day, with teams down pit lane split between wet and dry tyres.
Team 18 committed both Camaros to wet tyres from the outset, a decision that quickly paid off when light rain returned midway through the session and the crossover conditions heavily favoured the wet runners.
The team immediately emerged as one of the benchmarks in the changing conditions, with DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale continuing his strong qualifying form by securing a front row start for Race 14. Reynolds also featured near the front, qualifying fifth before being elevated to fourth following a post-session penalty.

The second qualifying session again showed the pace of both Camaros, with Reynolds qualifying fifth and De Pasquale eighth for Race 15.
Race 14 saw De Pasquale launch brilliantly from the outside of the front row to lead into Turn 1 and control the opening lap. However, the lead battle intensified early, with Mostert reclaiming the lead at Turn 6 on lap two before De Pasquale was shuffled back through the field in a chaotic sequence that saw a touch from Reynolds as he went down the inside of the final corner and bounced off the kerb.
Reynolds remained in second place and held off Kostecki and Feeney in the closing stages to secure second place, his first podium finish of the 2026 season and second podium with Team 18.
Race 15 delivered another strong showing of speed from Team 18. De Pasquale charged forward across the race, stopping early for four fresh tyres to put himself firmly into podium contention in the closing laps.
De Pasquale reeled in Payne in the fight for third as he threw everything at a late-race podium attempt before hitting the grass on the inside and running wide at the penultimate corner, ultimately finishing fifth.
Reynolds was again inside the top ten battle before contact with Kostecki at the Turn 4 hairpin resulted in a 15-second post-race penalty, dropping him from ninth on the road to 17th in the final classification.
Sunday’s action sees qualifying at 11:35am AEST, a Top 10 Shootout at 12:30pm and Race 16 of the championship at 2:45pm over 84 laps. All the action can be viewed live on Fox Sports and Kayo.

“Busy Saturday as always here at Symmons Plains. A couple of qualifying sessions, two races, and it’s always intense around here.
“We led the first race for a lap and a half, which was good, but we just didn’t quite have the car and got bashed around a little bit in that one.
“For the second race, with the parc ferme rules changes, we could make some changes and put back in what we normally would. The car was really good after that, so it’s a bit of a shame we couldn’t have had that for the first race.
“Overall though, it was a positive day. Both our cars are pretty speedy, so we’re not far away, which is exciting. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.”

“It actually started out awesome today. We were fourth and fifth in qualifying, and our car was really fast in both the wet and the dry, which is a really good feeling for everyone. Both cars were up there all day.
“In the wet qualifying conditions we were one and two at one point, and everything felt really good. Then in Race 14 I got a good start and finished second, which was unbelievable. There were definitely some cars faster than me, but I just tried to put the car in the right spots.
“Brodie and Feeney were battling pretty hard there late in the race and that gave me a bit of breathing space, which helped me hold onto second. It was awesome to stand on the podium again.
“The last race today was going okay, but I just got it completely wrong and hit the back of Brodie. We’ll chalk that one up as a loss and move on tomorrow. The good thing is both our cars are fast and in the window, so hopefully we can fight for some more trophies tomorrow.”
