DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale stormed through the field from 16th on the grid to finish seventh in Race 3 of the Sydney SuperNight, securing the Biggest Mover Award in a strong recovery drive at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Meanwhile, TRADIE Energy Racing’s David Reynolds endured a challenging race, battling handling issues to finish 22nd.
Overnight, the team made significant setup changes to both cars to improve their qualifying performance. The adjustments paid off early in the day, with De Pasquale topping the first segment of Qualifying before being eliminated in Part 2, placing 16th.
Reynolds, on the other hand, delivered a strong performance to progress into the Top 10 Shootout, where he secured ninth on the grid despite a close call at Turn 5.
In the race, De Pasquale wasted no time moving forward, climbing to 12th before pitting for fresh tyres and fuel on Lap 13. A consistent middle stint saw him break into the top ten before his second stop on Lap 33, after which he gained another position to finish seventh—his best result of the weekend.
Reynolds struggled with car balance throughout the race, and as rain began to fall in the closing laps, his TRADIE Energy Camaro became even more difficult to manage. Despite the tough conditions, he fought to bring the car home in 22nd place.
After a solid opening round, Team 18 now sits sixth in the Teams’ Championship heading into the next event: the Melbourne SuperSprint at Albert Park, supporting the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix from March 13-16

“That’s a wrap on my first weekend in the DEWALT Camaro for Team 18. It’s been a solid start, with plenty of ups and downs, but a lot to take away and learn from.”
“We started the weekend with a test day, then jumped straight into three races. Qualifying wasn’t where we wanted it to be, but our race pace was strong, and we moved forward in every race.”
“We made some big setup changes overnight, and while Qualifying improved, we just missed the mark on the final run. There are a lot of positives, though—we showed great tyre life, and the car felt strong across the stints.”
“The last race was hectic with rain coming down in the final laps, which made things stressful, but it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed my first weekend with Team 18, and I’m looking forward to taking another step forward at the Grand Prix.”

“The first round of the year was a disaster for me—there’s no other way to put it. So many things went wrong on our side of the garage, and unfortunately, we just couldn’t catch a break.”
“We rolled out first and second in practice, but we knew that wasn’t a true reflection of our pace. When Qualifying started, we realised we had some work to do. The team did an amazing job analysing everything, and we made big gains on Sunday morning, which got us into the shootout.”
“But in the races, it just didn’t come together. I finished 15th in the first one, and then basically last in both of the others. We had a stack of issues that I won’t even begin to explain, but the good news is that I love working with this team. They’re an awesome bunch of people, and we’ll bounce back.”
“The Grand Prix is up next, and I can’t wait to put this one behind us and push for a much better result.”
