DE PASQUALE QUOTE
“We had an okay day, the first race this morning saw me penalised and getting dropped back to 20th. We regrouped for the second race, which was much stronger after making some changes.

“I had a lock-up and at turn 1, ended up going wide and hurting the front right wheel. We can in for our stop and managed the tyre until the end. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to hold off Reynolds on a fresher tyre in the end.

“We’ll take a look at everything again tonight and come back tomorrow for one final race.”

DAVISON QUOTE
“We ideally wouldn’t have stopped when we did, I think we were just reacting to maybe Dave (Reynolds) pitting and we didn’t want the undercut at that stage. I knew it meant I was going to be managing the tyres having a 3-lap deficit to these guys.

“You can only drive the car straight when you have your pace, obviously, I tried to fight Shane for a couple of corners and then I saw Dave coming as well on fresher tyres, ultimately I’m time trialling to get home as quick as I can and I wasn’t going to be able to hold Shane off and I didn’t want Dave to get involved in the party as well. I did all I could to try to keep my speed up.

“We won’t stop working, we have an amazing team. The car is exceptional in qualifying and we know that often we can’t replicate that in race trim, so nothing new and is something we are working really hard at.

“We were definitely stronger at the start of that race (Race 8), which is great given when we only had an hour and a half. So for Anton and I to make an improvement on the soft at the start, we made some changes and we were more competitive at least we could get away from some of the shenanigans I had in the race this morning (Race 7), where I was hugely vulnerable and had no grip.”

The Supercars have one race left for the weekend at midday today Sunday, the Formula 1 race gets underway at 3.00pm
