WATERS WITH MONSTER ENERGY RE-SIGN WITH TICKFORD

Driver Cameron Waters and Monster Energy will remain with Tickford Racing, having both inked multi-year deals with the Melbourne-based team for 2020 and beyond. 2020 will mark the fifth season Waters has piloted the Monster Energy Ford for Tickford, having amassed ten podiums since his rookie year in 2016, six of which have come this season.
 
Waters, 25, sits seventh in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship as the category heads to its premier event, the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, October 10-13. Hailing from Mildura, Waters is happy to have his future plans taken care of before the championship begins its Enduro campaign next week.

 
“I’m pumped to be sticking with Tickford Racing, and really excited to have Monster Energy back on board with us,” said 25-year old Waters. “We’ve had a great 2019 so far, and gotten to share some champagne together, so it’s great to have next year sorted this early. Obviously we’re off to Bathurst in a few days, and we’ve definitely got the tools to win there. There’s no better way to thank Tickford and Monster than to go out and have a crack at that top step, so we’ll certainly gun for that next week.”

Tim Ryder, Marketing Director of Monster Energy Oceania, is pleased with the Monster Energy Ford Mustang’s performance, citing Waters’ strong 2019 & the Tickford’s Mustang program as key elements in renewing with him and Tickford Racing.

Tickford Racing CEO and Team Principal, Tim Edwards, is happy to have one of the sport’s brightest young stars and marquee brands sticking with the team as the championship prepares for the annual classic at Bathurst.

 
“Retaining Cam and Monster Energy have been key priorities for us this year, so we’re extremely happy to tick those boxes,” Edwards said. “We had an option to retain Cam for 2020, but decided to negotiate a new deal to keep him in a Tickford Ford long-term. He’s been with us since 2014 and has risen from a pretty raw youngster to the regular podium challenger he is today, and we know he’s a fighting chance wherever we go, so we’re ecstatic to keep him in our camp, and very happy to keep him in a Monster Energy Ford.”
 
“Monster as a brand needs no introduction, and are obviously one of the top brands in the category, so having them on board for what will be their fifth year with us is fantastic,” Edwards continued. “Monster stuck with us through a difficult 2018 for the team, and they’re being rewarded with a very strong 2019 for Car 6. We think the best is yet to come from Monster Energy Racing this year, and we’re excited to see the team reach more heights in 2020 and beyond.”

Tickford Racing managing director Rod Nash also expressed satisfaction in retaining driver and partner, both of which have been key to the team since their arrival in 2016.
 
“Cam is a great team player, not just in himself as a driver, but he contributes to the team well in other areas of the business,” Nash said. “We really appreciate that in him and are very happy to keep him on board. Our relationship with Monster Energy equally is a fantastic result of both businesses working together hard within the Supercars network over the past four years to give it the brand recognition it deserves, and we look forward to working with Tim Ryder and his team to further get results both on the track and off with this exciting Monster brand.”
 
Alongside Waters at this year’s Enduros will be ace co-driver Michael Caruso, who will make his first race start with the team at Bathurst next week.
