The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Stephen Grove are currently on-route to the stunning Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, for Round 3 of the series this weekend (June 28-30, 2019).

Another new circuit for Grove to add to his résumé, the Red Bull Ring is a short but fast 4.3 km layout located in the valley of Styria in southeast Austria, famous for its picturesque mountainous backdrop.

It features 10 turns with a number of undulating corners and heavy braking zones.

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has visited the track every year since 2014, though this will be Grove’s first time.

To prepare for the round, he has spent a number of hours practising the Red Bull Ring on a simulator after returning home to Melbourne, Australia in the break between rounds.

Entering the third round in Austria, Grove sits fourth in the Pro-Am standings on 26 points.

While results in the opening two rounds of the season have been solid, Grove is hoping to make the most of the upcoming weekend.

Grove also arrives fresh off the back of a two-day Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup test at Silverstone in the United Kingdom, where he turned nearly one-hundred laps on another new circuit.

That seat time and the learning process applied for Silverstone will prove helpful this weekend.

“The Red Bull Ring looks like an incredible track and it’s one that I am really excited to tackle,” said Grove.

“It’s probably one of the simpler circuits on the calendar so hopefully that will hold me in good stead having not been there before.

“I’m feeling really quite confident for the weekend after doing quite a lot of simulator work and studying behind the scenes.

“The short amount of track time before the race means we don’t really get a chance to build up over the weekend.”

A 45-minute Free Practice session takes place on Friday, followed by Qualifying on Saturday and the 17 lap race on Sunday.

Fox Sports will broadcast both Qualifying and the Race Live in Australia on Channel 506.

Qualifying coverage begins on Saturday at 21:23 AEST, while coverage of the Race kicks off on Sunday at 20:10 AEST.
