AU4 BRIDGING THE GAP FROM KARTING TO GLOBAL MOTORSPORT

MEDIA RELEASE/

The Motorsport Australia AU4 Championship is officially reinforcing its 2026 operational structure with the appointment of a powerhouse media and leadership team dedicated to maintaining the series’ position as the most cost-effective national wings-and-slicks category in the region.

As the Australian home of the FIA’s global pathway to Formula 1, the AU4 Championship provides a definitive platform for young drivers to transition from karting to professional open-wheel racing.

The 2026 season will feature a high-stakes, five-round calendar visiting Australia’s most technical circuits, including Winton Raceway, Sydney Motorsport Park, and a double-header at The Bend Motorsport Park.

The mission of the championship, as stated by AU4 Series Promoter Adam Gotch, is to provide the best possible “bang for buck” for families transitioning from karting. At a fraction of the costs associated with international F4 Championships, AU4 allows drivers to gain critical mileage right here in Australia. The innovative dual-class structure remains a key pillar of this accessibility, with the Gen1 Mygale M14-F4 and the Gen2 Tatuus F4-T421.

In line with its mission to foster the next generation of motorsport professionals, the AU4 Championship recognizes that emerging talent is not limited to the cockpit. This season highlights a unique synergy between young competitors and a new wave of media talent, exemplified by 16-year-old official commentator Lindsay Muddle and 16-year-old lead photographer Josh Cody. By providing these young creatives with a professional national platform, the championship serves as a proving ground for the future voices and visions of the sport, mirroring the development of the drivers they cover.

Leading this comprehensive developmental environment is Samantha Stevens, serving in the dual capacity of Event Category Manager and Media Liaison. A respected motoring journalist and national racing titleholder with over 25 years of industry experience, Stevens brings an unparalleled depth of expertise to the series.

The media team is completed by Ivan Vantagiato, founder of Let’s Talk Motorsport. As a competitive racer in Formula RX8, Vantagiato delivers insider technical analysis and extensive social media reach, bridging the gap between the cockpit and the spectator.

In a vital addition to the championship’s goals, Stevens and Vantagiato will also serve as the on-hand media trainers for the grid. Their mentorship will provide young drivers and the burgeoning media team with the essential communication skills and professional standards required to navigate the spotlight of national motorsport.

Together, this team will cover the 2026 season starting at Winton Raceway (May 1-3), through to the finale at Sydney Motorsport Park (September 11-13). With a grid expected to exceed 20 cars, the series remains the definitive proving ground for Australia’s next generation of racing stars.
