LIAM MCADAM IS SET TO RE-JOIN THE TCR GRID AFTER A YEAR OUT OF THE CAR

Liam McAdam Motorsport will be joining the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Grid at the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, after more than 12 months out of the drivers seat the team have today confirmed they will be racing at Bathurst.

Most recently Liam unveiled the unique indigenous Australian livery for his Audi RS 3 LMS TCR car for the 2021 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.

“ I am itching to get back into the race car after a year off racing,” Liam told Velocity Motorsport Magazine this morning.

“ Whilst I am certainly rusty with respect to recent seat time, I’m hopeful the awesome Audi RS3 will be competitive at the mountain.”

The last time McAdam was at the wheel of his TCR Audi was at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in March 2020, of course that event fell over on Australia’s Motorsport Black Friday, the 13th of March when the COVID-19 Pandemic stopped the event.

TCR has already had two rounds, the first at Symmons Plains Tasmania and last weekend at the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit.  Round three sees the series at Mt Panorama for the first time ever, they were slated to run there last year, but COVID stopped the whole championship.  They will visit the Mountain twice in 2021 with the 6 Hour at Easter, and again in November for the Bathurst International.

“Bathurst is important to the team as we seek to understand the optimum set up in readiness for the Bathurst International 500 km race in November,” said McAdam.

The Bathurst International is a co-driver event and the team from LMM have said watch this space for some exciting details on their co-driver!

“ We have been working hard on the sponsorship side of things and are looking forward to announcing these next week,“ he said.

Velocity Magazine will be at the Bathurst 6 Hour event, all weekend long, its one of those key events we look forward to shooting at, keep an eye on our website and Facebook pages for regular TCR Australia and all other classes of racing for news and photos.
