Erebus Academy’s Jobe Stewart will carry the Penrite Racing colours the team donned at the recent Bathurst 1000 into the return of virtual racing this week.
The Supercars Pro Eseries kicks off tomorrow night with the 16-year old will carrying the Australian-themed livery on the #999 entry.
“I’m pumped to be getting behind the wheel and representing the team,” Stewart said.
“The Australian livery looked great on track at Bathurst and it’s going to look just as good over the next six weeks.”
The virtual series will see Stewart compete against a mix of real racers and pro gamers, in six weekly rounds from October 27 to December 1.
Penrite Oil’s Director of Motorsport Jarrod Harding said their Are you supporting Australia campaign had been a great success so far.
“The Eseries is a great opportunity to continue our call to action and ensure Australians are supporting local,” he said.
“We experienced a great response from our recent push at Bathurst and we want to ensure Australians are doing their bit to support the local economy.”
In addition to the team’s livery, Penrite Oil’s campaign was emulated in their branding at Bathurst’s turn two right-hander and television commercial.
“We are a proud Australian company committed to investing in the future and supporting local jobs and families,” Harding said.
“We want to remind others to think about doing the same and make the right choices to aid in the recovery of our nation.”
The opening round of the Eseries will take place tomorrow night at Belle Isle and Silverstone.
Fans can watch the races from 8:30pm AEDT on Fox Sports 506, Kayo Sports and Sky NZ, as well as the Teams Facebook page.
