MATT CHAHDA MOTORSPORT TO FIELD TWO CARS AT BATHURST

Matt Chahda Motorsport are delighted to announce Matt McLean as their second driver for the final round of this year’s Super2 Series.

McLean will join forces with Matt Chahda on the bill of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 having tested with the team earlier this year.

The 23-year-old arrives at MCM with a rich karting history as well as experience in the Super3 Series. He’s a two-time KA3 Senior champion in the Australian Kart Championship and can’t wait to test himself at Mount Panorama.

McLean said: “I’m really excited and thankful for the opportunity the Chahdas are giving me. “We completed a half day with them earlier in the year at Winton as an evaluation and we weren’t far off the guys with a Superlicense.

“This will only be my fourth race in any form of race car and my first time at the mountain. “I’ll work the hardest to promote my supporters so they return for a full season next year, while gaining some great experience to apply to my 2021 campaign.”

It’s a significant step forward for MCM as they bid to grow the family-run team into a larger operation. Team owner Amin Chahda said: “I’m happy to welcome Matt to the team and we’re excited to see what he can do in one of our cars. “We’re the only family-run team left. Everyone else is affiliated with ‘main game’ teams but we are independent to do the job that we do and it’s a lot of work so this is a pretty cool moment for everyone on the team.”

The mixed field of Super2 and Super3 cars will hit the track at 11.20am on Thursday October 15th for the first two practice sessions ahead of qualifying on Friday and two 16 lap races.  See the full Supercars schedule here.
