Reigning Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 winner Alexandre Prémat will join Michael Caruso and James Moffat to form a formidable Tickford Racing co-driver line up in this year’s Enduro Cup, the highlight piece of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

After claiming victory at the 2019 Great Race, French-born Prémat joins Tickford’s established duet of Caruso and Moffat, both of whom showed well in their 2019 Enduro campaigns.

“I can’t wait to start the season with Tickford as a co-driver,” Prémat said. “They have been one of the teams to beat the last 10 years in Supercars, so I am delighted to join such a competitive team for the Enduro Cup. I’m excited to bring my knowledge acquired in the past five years in the endurance races, and am also happy to be back as a reigning Bathurst champion.”

Tickford Racing CEO and Team Principal Tim Edwards lauded the arrival of Prémat, who was also an Enduro Cup champion in 2016.

“It’s not often the defending Bathurst winner becomes a free agent,” Edwards commented, “so we were really happy to snap Alex up when the opportunity came about. He routinely shows up come Enduro season and is straight on the pace, which is what you need nowadays, so we’re very excited to see what he’ll bring to the team. We think he’ll complement our other drivers quite well, so we are very happy with our overall line-up.”

Edwards also commended returning co-drivers Caruso and Moffat, who return to the roster after strong showings in the 2019 Enduros.

“Moff and Caruso were fantastic last year,” Edwards added. “When you have a co-driver who can genuinely race the main game guys it gives you a huge advantage, and when we put both of them in tough situations last year they excelled. It’s a no brainer to have them back in 2020, and to add Alex to the mix gives us a really strong line-up, we’re really excited about it.”

Driver pairings for the 2020 Enduro Cup will be announced at a later date, however all three of Caruso, Moffat, and Prémat will take part in today’s SuperTest at The Bend Motorsport Park. Jack Perkins, newly introduced co-driver for Tickford Racing customer team 23Red Racing, will also participate in the lone test day before this weekend’s Superloop Adelaide 500, which kicks off the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
