CHARLOTTE POYNTING GETS FIRST TASTE OF THE NEW TOYOTA HILUX SUPERUTE
Western Sydney Motorsports (WSM) Charlotte Poynting has today got to test drive the brand new Toyota Hilux SuperUte at Sydney Motorsport Park that she will campaign in this weekend Bathurst 1000 event at Mount Panorama and then Newcastle Supercar event next month.
Before Poytning hopped into the Ute her team mate and current SuperUte series leader Craig Woods undertook the new Hilux’s shakedown. Poynting steps up from her WSM Mustang Aussie Racing Car that she raced at SMP just a week ago.
WSM Team owner Craig Thompson said “Charlotte is doing good for her first run, we just want her to learn the car characteristic’s before heading to Bathurst this weekend”.
Ponyting and Woods will be joined once again by Ben Walsh in another WSM SuperUte, Walsh had a podium finish in the last round at Sandown Raceway, “The pace in the final race was hectic. I stayed in second place at the start but had to fight off Woodsy for a couple of laps. I started catching the leader slowly, about 1 tenth every lap but very very consistently” said Walsh on Facebook.
The ECB SuperUtes Series get two practice sessions on Thursday, their qualifying is first up on Friday morning at 7.25am with Race One later in the day and followed by two more races on Saturday.
