SPECIAL PRESENTATION TO THE AUSSIE CAR COMMISSIONER

Today in the Aussie Racing Cars pits a special presentation was made to Phil ‘Wilko’ Wilkinson where he was presented with a brand new $15,000 powered wheel chair by McDonalds Restaurants Aussie Racing Car driver Madison Dunston along with Lissa Fleming from Complete Mobility and Rehab.

“On behalf of myself, Quantum and Complete Mobility and Rehab I am honoured to present this awesome power wheelchair for all your hard work and dedication towards the field of motorsport” said Dunston during the presentation.

Mr Wilkinson is the Aussie Racing Cars technical commissioner and is also the longest serving CAMS (Confederation of Australian Motor Sport) official in any of the categories of Australian Motorsport having been with the Aussie Racing Cars for 19 years.  Next year the Aussie Cars will celebrate their 20th year in Racing.

“I believe Wilko has only missed a couple of our races in those 19 years” said the category manager Brad Ward.

As the CAMS designated officer for the category it’s Wilkinson’s responsibility to ensure that the class CAMS rules are adhered to and to manage the teams and drivers during a race meeting, getting the cars to the dummy grid on time, to liaise with the category CAMS Official and the teams.

“I’m overwhelmed with this” said Wilkinson.
