Brad Jones Racing has laid a strong foundation to start the weekend at Symmons Plains for the Tasmania Super440.
In each of the two practice sessions, two cars finished inside the top 10, giving the team a strong platform for the weekend ahead.
There are three races across the weekend in the Super440 format: two 50-lap events on Saturday and a longer 84-lap race on Sunday.
Practice 1 & 2:
- Andre Heimgartner (R&J Batteries #8 GR Supra) is very comfortable in the car but feels there is still more to come from the setup.
- Cameron Hill (Wrest Point & Country Club Tasmania Racing #14 GR Supra) was happy with his green-tyre run and was overall very positive about the team’s performance today.
- Macauley Jones (Summit Fleet Racing #96 GR Supra) suffered some early gremlins that he and his crew had to work through in the first session. However, he was able to find his feet in the second practice session.

“Solid day. Feel like we’ve picked up from a good base that’s sort of worked in our team before so pretty happy with that. Just got to try and make the right steps. Been fast here in practice before and not been able to convert it, so just trying to understand where we need to go but I feel like I’m working well with Phil and we’re making some good steps in the right direction. It’s good to have two top cars up there on the timesheets.”

“The day was good. Obviously, it’s pretty tight with two sessions back-to-back, but the car rolled out really strong. We tried a few things that we had on our test plan, and I feel like we learned a few things for tomorrow’s qualifying session. It’s very, very close out there, doesn’t take much to go up or down.”

“My day was a bit average to be honest. Sort of struggling with the balance of the car and finding a happy spot with the brakes which is very important around here. So it’s a bit of a work in progress for us.”
