JAMES LODGE JOINS JONES MOTORSPORT FOR 2026 PORSCHE SPRINT

Jones Motorsport is proud to announce that rising Australian talent James Lodge will join the team for select rounds of the 2026 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Championship, kicking off this weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park for Round 2 of the Championship.

At just 20 years of age, Lodge represents one of Australia’s most exciting young prospects, bringing proven pace, race-winning pedigree, and a strong Porsche foundation as he takes the next major step in his career.

Lodge will join current Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge series leader Hunter Robb and Ben Taylor as part of Jones Motorsport’s established three-car lineup, adding further strength to an already formidable team presence in one of Australia’s most competitive one-make categories.

Born in 2005, Lodge has rapidly built an impressive résumé. In 2024, he finished runner-up in the Toyota GR Cup Australia Championship, establishing himself as one of the country’s standout young drivers through his consistency, speed, and racecraft.

In 2025, Lodge made his mark in Porsche competition with Ash Seward Motorsport, where he immediately proved his credentials with multiple race wins and podium finishes. His performances confirmed him as a genuine force in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and positioned him as one of the category’s most exciting future stars.

Now, Lodge will continue that trajectory with Jones Motorsport — a team led by one of Australia’s most credentialed Porsche racers.

Jones Motorsport Team Principal Harri Jones is uniquely positioned to mentor emerging talent, bringing firsthand experience as a Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Champion and two-time Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Champion. With international Porsche success and extensive driver development expertise, Jones plays a hands-on role in shaping the next generation through the Jones Motorsport program.

Jones said Lodge’s speed first caught his attention, but it’s his professionalism behind the scenes that truly sets him apart.

“I’ve been keeping an eye on James over the past couple of years and have been really impressed with his raw speed and intelligent racecraft,” said Jones.

“Now that I’ve been working with him for a couple of months — testing at Queensland Raceway and training together on the simulator and in the gym — it’s his work ethic and attention to detail in every aspect of his profession that I believe will really set him apart.

“He’s already proven he can win races and fight at the front, but what excites me most is how much potential he still has. We’re thrilled to welcome James into Jones Motorsport alongside Hunter and Ben, and I’m looking forward to helping him take the next step.”

Lodge said joining Jones Motorsport marks an exciting opportunity as he returns to competition in 2026.
