TGRA Cup and TGRA Scholarship series Champion Max Geoghegan will compete in the 2025 Super2 Series with Image Racing as part of the Erebus Academy.
Geoghegan joined the Erebus Academy in August 2024 and capped off the year by winning both the TGRA Cup Championship and the TGRA Scholarship Series titles.
The Erebus Motorsport and Image Racing crews are currently working to ready a third ZB Commodore, previously Will Brown’s 2022 car, for Max’s Super2 campaign.
“I am very proud to say I am joining the Erebus Academy and Image Racing for Super2 in 2025,” Geoghegan said. “I look forward to the challenge ahead and believe I am in the best place to tackle it head-on. We have worked well together so far, and I can’t wait to get hands-on and into the thick of it.”
“Erebus Academy has such a strong history of nurturing talent, and it’s exciting to be a part of that journey,” he said. “This is the perfect environment to develop as a driver, and I’m ready to give it my all and see where it takes me.”
Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan praised Geoghegan’s achievements and potential.
“Max has proven he has the talent and attitude to make it to the top of the motorsport tree. His impressive two championships in 2024 in the Toyota 86 Scholarship and GR Cup were outstanding. I am excited to see Max progress and show his talents in Super2 in 2025.”
Ryan also highlighted the broader goals of the Erebus Academy, which the team has made no secret has a heightened focus heading into the 2025 season.
“The Erebus Academy is our commitment to building the next generation of motorsport talent. From karting to Supercars and beyond, we’re working to create clear pathways for young racers to succeed.”
In 2025, this vision will take another leap. Jobe Stewart, 2023 Super3 Champion, and Jarrod Hughes, 2024 Super2 Rookie of the Year, will step up as Erebus co-drivers at the Tailem Bend and Bathurst 1000 endurance events while continuing their Super2 campaigns.
“The Erebus Academy is more than a development program. What sets our Academy apart is our willingness not only to provide these opportunities, but to back these young drivers at the highest level.”
