The 2024 season is already set to go underway for PREMA Racing as the team prepares for a challenging double run in the United Arab Emirates.
The team will be taking part in the Formula 4 UAE and Formula Regional Middle East Championship and will continue its long-standing partnership with Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited. The Indian operation, aimed at accelerating the growth of the country’s racing ecosystem, is the reigning Champion in all classes of the two championships.
PREMA will field four cars in the Formula Regional series, all of them under the Mumbai Falcons banner. Brazilian Rafael Camara will be headlining the pack coming from a positive debut season in Formula Regional. American Ugo Ugochukwu and Australian James Wharton, who is the reigning F4 UAE Champion, will join him in preparation for their FRECA programme. A fourth car will feature Arvid Lindblad who is looking to smoothen the transition from Formula 4 to the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Mumbai Falcons will field four cars for Kean Nakamura-Berta, Alex Powell, Freddie Slater, and Dion Gowda in the Formula 4 UAE Championship. While Jamaican-American Powell and Brit Slater already had their racing debuts last year, Japanese-Slovakian Nakamura-Berta will be making his first competitive starts coming from karting. On the other hand, Indian racer Gowda, who made a winning debut in the 2023 British F4 Championship, will join PREMA for the first time to contest the UAE series.
PREMA Racing will also race under its own banner in F4 UAE. Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri will start his second year in Formula 4 racing with the team, partnered by Doriane Pin and Tomass Štolcermanis. The French female racer comes from a positive year in FIA WEC and secured second place overall and the rookie title in the Formula 4 SEA championship, while the Latvian, who also raced in F4 SEA, will contest the two final rounds of the championship.
Rene Rosin – Team Principal
“Once again we are off to a very early start to the season, and while it’s always challenging to have so many cars on track so early, running in these high-quality winter championships is pivotal for the season ahead. In addition, we are proud to continue working with Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited. Our partnership led to sensational results last year and I think the potential is there to give all drivers a chance to be top competitors.”
