Dunlop Tyres, the official control tyre of Supercars, is once again turning PINK to support breast cancer awareness during the milestone 60th anniversary of the Repco Bathurst 1000 from October 5-8, 2023. This is the fourth consecutive year of Dunlop raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research at Bathurst through a partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) – Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation funding world-class breast cancer research towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

All Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres on the Supercars racing at Bathurst during Sunday’s 1000km race will prominently display PINK bespoke Dunlop branding on the tyre’s sidewall. To date, Dunlop has contributed nearly $30,000 in fundraising to NBCF.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary running of the Repco Bathurst 1000, Dunlop is excited to announce the donation per pit stop will be raised from $50 to $60 per pitstop. With a competitive field, 28 Supercars are expected to make 7 or more pit stops each during the race; the increase in donations per pit stop further bolsters Dunlop’s fundraising support for NBCF.

Jeremy Hill, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres, recognises that the 60th anniversary Bathurst 1000 is a significant platform to champion Dunlop’s breast cancer awareness and fundraising initiative. “The event is set to captivate millions of race fans, offering a unique opportunity for Dunlop’s Pink program to raise awareness about breast cancer research within both local and global motorsport communities,” Hill commented. ”

In 2023, it’s estimated that over 20,000 Australians, including around 200 men, will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Increasing our donation from $50 to $60 for the 60th Bathurst is a logical step for our corporate fundraising support of NBCF for this iconic event.”

This will be the first time the new generation Supercars will be racing on the Soft compound Sport Maxx tyres at Bathurst featuring the Pink Dunlop branding instead of the usual white.

Supercars Chief Executive Officer Shane Howard is proud of Supercars’ role in supporting the campaign.

“We take pride in joining forces with Dunlop once again in 2023 to promote awareness through the pink tyre initiative at the Repco Bathurst 1000.”

“The participation and involvement of women in our sport, whether through volunteering, active participation, or administrative roles, are steadily growing. This underscores the significance of initiatives like this.

“We are privileged to extend our support to Dunlop’s endeavor at Bathurst, as it will contribute to crucial research aimed at improving survival rates.

“Some of our drivers and members within our community have tragically experienced the loss of loved ones due to this dreadful illness,” reflected Howard.

“The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) funds world-class research towards our goal of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. As a community-funded organisation, corporate support through initiatives like this one led by Dunlop is paramount to helping us reach this goal. It’s a partnership to be proud of. Together, we can change the future for all those diagnosed with breast cancer.” Laura Edwards, NBCF Director of Fundraising and Development.

Dunlop Tyres remains committed to supporting NBCF and we invite all race fans, Supercar teams, drivers and partners to join us on our drive to accelerate funds for NBCF and to make a donation.
