“We ticked a lot of boxes in regard to our program today which was good. We got a good mix of race running and qualifying running. SVG (Shane van Gisbergen) focused on the qualifying run in the first practice session, and I did the race work, then we swapped for the second practice session.
“I think the car is quite quick on new tyres, but we’ll be relying on (David) Cauchi and SVG’s data to see how they went on their race ruin, and hopefully we can put our brains together, come up with a good plan and get a good balance for qualifying tomorrow. We gained a lot of knowledge today and hopefully it works in our favour this weekend.”

“We just had too many car problems today, and I’m not too sure why. It’s hard to get the balance of the car right when we’ve got mechanical issues. We’ve got braking problems, the splitter is vibrating, steering is vibrating, and on top of that it’s bloody hot.
“We tried to focus on resolving those main problems throughout both practice sessions, especially the splitter vibration, but we just had limited time between sessions. It’s a shame we’re focusing on issues rather than car speed, but at least today isn’t a Saturday and we have the night to be thorough and make some changes.”
