Today Velocity Magazine were given a tour around the brand new permanent Motorsport Precinct in Townsville by the team at DriveIT, where construction has begun. The venue will cater for circuit racing, drag racing, off-road racing and speedway. Also in attendance today was Bathurst Champion Paul Morris with Red Bull Holden Racing Team owner Roland Dane.

Along side of that there will be Learn to Drive, Advanced Driving Courses and Defensive driving courses, there is also scope for concerts, field days and plenty more.

What is being touted as Australia’s largest skid-pan is well underway and the venue will also have the longest drag strip in the country which will see Top Fuel racing and down catered for.

Drive It NQ incorporates local organisations, clubs, and individuals devoted to the establishment of Townsville’s permanent driver education and motor sport precinct.

The Drive It NQ precinct is the only regional owned motor sport facility within Australia and will prove to be the prime multiple-purpose complex for organisational training and education and motor sport events The multi-purpose venue will provide first class facilities and grounds. Features include:

Advanced Driving Courses
Defensive driving courses
Integrated learning with surrounding secondary schools
Supports the training of Emergency Services
Product Testing
Events (concerts, field days, expos)
Recreational sport (circuit racing, speedway, drag, off road)
