TANDER RETURNS TO TEXAS AS SUPERCARS WILDCARD IN eSERIES

2007 Supercars Champion Garth Tander will be in familiar territory when he joins the BP All Stars Eseries as wildcard next Wednesday night.

Tander raced at the Circuit of the Americas circuit in 2013, claiming three top ten finishes from the event’s four Supercars races.

The three-time Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 winner has had recent success in online racing and is keen to take on some familiar competition in a virtual Red Bull Holden Commodore.

“I’m really looking forward to the Eseries. Just like the real thing, the competition looks tough and the intensity is high, so situation normal! Looking forward to joining SVG, JDub representing the Red Bull Holden Racing Team,” Tander said.

“I’ll be using the number 42, as that is my wife, Leanne’s race number.

“My main number from Supercars was 2, and that is being used, and my karting number was 51, but I don’t want to use Murph’s number, so I figured Leanne’s number might give me some luck!

“I’ve been practicing quite a bit in the sim, but that has been in FWD cars, so not really comparable to a Supercar.

“I have done exactly zero kilometres prior to being announced as a wildcard, however since then I have tried to get as many miles as possible under my belt. I think I qualify as an eRookie.

Tander will be competing for bragging rights against his PIRTEK Enduro Cup teammate and the most in-form driver of the competition, Shane van Gisbergen.

The sixth round of the BP Supercars All Stars Eseries will take place next Wednesday night, 13^thMay from 7pm – 9pm AEST with racing scheduled for Circuit of the Americas (Texas, USA), where Supercars raced in 2013.

Formula 1 superstar Lando Norris will return as a wildcard following his debut last night at Spa, Belgium. More wildcards will be named in coming days.

Qualifying will be broadcast exclusively on Fox Sports 506 from 6pm AEST, with the races broadcast live from 7pm on Fox Sports, Kayo, 10 Play, Sky Sports (NZ), Facebook, Twitch and YouTube.
 
10 Bold will also show a full replay on Saturday afternoon from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
