Cameron Hill is remaining positive despite a penalty costing him another top-three finish in Race 2 of Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia at the Superloop Adelaide 500 yesterday.

Starting third on the grid, Hill was briefly relegated to fourth position, but recaptured the place with a committed move around the outside of Aaron Love into Turn 4, and held onto the position for the remainder of the 10-lap journey.

However, Hill was judged to have been outside his grid box at the start, and the subsequent five-second penalty relegated him to eighth.

While disappointed with the outcome, Hill said he knows he has the package to fight forward in tomorrow’s final race.

“It was another closely-fought race today; I had to work hard to hold onto third position on the opening lap, but after that I had a car that was capable of racing inside the lead pack once again.

“The penalty makes our job a bit tougher tomorrow; with the field being so closely-matched, it will be hard to make up places, but I’ll be on the attack – the car is certainly good enough.”

The third and final race comes up at 11:10 tomorrow morning (11:40 in the eastern states).
