EYES ON ADELAIDE AS SUPERTEST CONCLUDES

The 2020 Supercars pre-season has been brought to a close today after Penrite Racing’s David Reynolds and Anton De Pasquale clocked laps around The Bend Motorsport Park.

Both drivers worked through 147 laps as the team began to explore the capabilities of their new gear.

“We got through our program, all we wanted to achieve and felt out all the new changes,” De Pasquale said.

“We had a fast car on this circuit last year so understanding where it’s at this year with the changes was important, then we were able to work through some things we have wanted to trial since last year.

“Some things were better than others but overall everything was positive.

“We had a pretty smooth day because our changes were generally good and we could continue down that path.”

Following last weeks’ shakedown of car #9, the team were able to confirm their learnings around the new aerodynamics and evaluate the new control damper.

“We learnt a lot today and confirmed our learnings from last week, now it is just a matter of what we do with it,” Reynolds said.

De Pasquale recorded the third fastest time, thanks to a late afternoon lap of 1:47.8808, while Reynolds didn’t bank a qualifying run.

“We both ran different programs and as a team it’s been positive,” Reynolds said.

“Overall both cars achieved some good things and we can have a decent debrief tonight and come up with a plan of attack moving forward.”

Co-drivers Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown were also on hand to gain valuable miles before the Enduro Cup opener at The Bend in September.

The team now head straight for Adelaide, with setup tomorrow ahead of the Superloop Adelaide 500 this weekend.
