Truck Assist TEKNO Racing’s Jack Le Brocq and Jonathon Webb enjoyed a solid run in the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, with their efforts resulting in an 18^th place finish.
 
“It was an interesting day today, we circulated well and made it to the finish in one piece, unlike a lot of other teams,” said Le Brocq.
 
“While we didn’t have the ultimate car pace, the timing of the safety cars never worked in our favour.

“It was a great effort by the team, it’s always awesome when you get to cut laps around here.
 
“We learned a lot, and I can’t wait to get to the Gold Coast!”
 
The event’s running commenced with three one-hour-long practice sessions on Thursday, with the day giving results of 25^th, 17^th and 23^rd.
 
Friday kicked off with a further pair of hour duration practices, with results of 16^th and 26^th, before the heavens opened prior to qualifying, with the 40-minute session giving the team 26^th on Sunday’s starting grid.
 
Practice five on Saturday morning validated overnight changes, with the 16^th fastest time, backed up with the 24^th fastest lap in practice seven, with the team using the day’s running to practice pit stops.
 
That focus on practice pit stops continued in the warm up, before a delayed start and lap one safety car saw the team swing into action early, with the car receiving a top up of fuel at the end of the opening circuit.
 
A long opening stint saw starting driver Le Brocq pit from third position on lap 23.
 
Subsequent services came on lap 44 from ninth position, lap 66 from tenth, and lap 86 from 13^th.
 
Unfortunately, the timing of the safety cars worked against the squad, with the team getting trapped a lap down before their lap 100 pit stop from 17^th.

The car returned to the pits on laps 127 and 148, with Webb bring the car across the finish line in 15^th, before a post-race penalty for a late race safety car procedure issue dropped the team to 18^th.
 
Following 12 events, Le Brocq now finds himself 22^nd in the season standings, with the next round scheduled for October 25-27 on the streets of Surfers Paradise with the Vodafone Gold Coast 600.
