Penrite Racing will pay tribute to the Royal Australian Artillery at this weekend’s Townsville 400 with a special one-off livery on its two Holden entries.

Both David Reynolds’ and Anton De Pasquale’s Commodores were unveiled at Chau Pha Lines today, sporting camouflage and artillery branding.

“What better way to celebrate our relationship with the Army,” De Pasquale said.

“It’s awesome to team up again and showcase what the RAA is all about and raise awareness for those guys.”

It is the second time Penrite Racing has carried artillery branding, having previously represented the RAA on De Pasquale’s car last year.

“It has been great to be part of, and to step it up and roll out this weekend with two camo cars is something really cool.”

The livery represents a long-term partnership with the RAA and reflects their ongoing commitment to Army’s Wounded, Injured and Ill initiative.

The RAA Association badge also appears on the team’s cars and is integral to support its serving and ex-serving members.

‘Conquer the Castle’, a gun push up Castle Hill held by the RAA in August, will also help raise funds for local members. Proceeds will go to The Townsville Oasis, a not-for-profit organisation that support Australian Defence Force veterans in Townsville.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to recognize our relationship with the Royal Australian Artillery on a large scale,” CEO Barry Ryan said.

“It’s a great relationship and it’s been rewarding understanding their business and spending time with the School of Artillery in Puckapunyal over the past four years.

“We run our race team with the same values – courage, initiative, respect and teamwork – and we both have a similar mentality and understanding of how we operate.

“We are very proud to see our cars roll out in this special livery this weekend and we also need to thank Penrite Oil, for their continued support of the work we do with the Army.”

While sporting the new look, the drivers will also wear camouflage race gloves supplied by team partner Revolution Racegear.

Practice kicks off in Townsville this Friday at 10:55am local time.
