Bathurst Regional Council has received six expressions of interest (EOI) for a potential fifth event at the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit.
The expressions of interest were in response to Council identifying an opportunity for another event at the circuit under the terms of the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Act 1989 which permits up to five full track closures for motor sport events per year.
Mayor Cr Graeme Hanger OAM said the EOI process was to attract ideas for a fifth event from experienced motor sport promoters.
Cr Hanger said Council received six expressions of interest from the following.
- Mountain Motor Sports
- Australian Racing Group & CAMS
- Ontic Sports Pty Ltd
- Supercars
- 24 Hours of Lemons Australia Pty Ltd
- Creventic International
“It is heartening to see such a strong response to the EOI process and the level of excitement and interest that the Mount Panorama Circuit continues to generate among the motor racing fraternity.”
“Council will now undertake assessment of the EOIs and is unable to make any further comment until this process is complete”, Cr Hanger said.
