FULLWOOD TO SWAP ALTIMA FOR MUSTANG IN TASSIE ;)
Velocity Magazine has learnt tonight that the Super2 Round 1 Winner from Adelaide will swap his Nissan Altima for a Ford Mustang at the forthcoming Supercars Round at Tasmania’s Symmons Plains. Bryce Fullwood will race a Western Sydney Motorsport (WSM) Ford Mustang in the Aussie Racing Cars.
OK so it was a bit tongue in cheek 😉
Craig Thompson WSM team owner has advised us that Fullwood will be running the car that Craig Woods campaigned at the first round of the Aussie Racing Cars, “He will be in the Woods car that has been repaired” said Thompson. The car was damaged in Adelaide at the notorious turn 8 during the second race of the weekend putting Woods out for the rest of the event.
The Super2 series are not visiting Symmons Plains this year, their second round will be at Western Australia’s Barbagello Raceway in May as part of the PIRTEK Supercars SuperNight event.
“There’s no Super2 action this round so he (Fullwood) wants to stay sharp” said Thompson.
Fullwood won two of the three races in Adelaide and his maiden round win, the 20-year-old from the Northern Territory, is now in his fifth season in Super2.

Last year Fullwood had a taste of the Aussie Racing Cars at his home round of Darwin in the classes special invitational race meeting winning the round at Hidden Valley, again in a Western Sydney Motorsport Mustang – second in that round was WSM’s Craig Woods – also an invited driver by the team. Woods drives the WSM SuperUte after 3 years in the Aussie Cars with the Western Sydney team.
The Aussie Cars visited Tasmania last year but not with the Supercars, their first round was held at a stand alone event at Baskerville Raceway in Hobart, they return to Symmon’s Plains as one of the favoured support classes by the locals.
The pocket rockets second event for 2019 sees them having practice and qualifying on the Friday with two races on both Saturday and Sunday, the event gets underway in two weeks time 5th-7th April.
Velocity Motorsport Magazine will once again be in attendance at Symmons Pains for the Supercar event, keep an eye on our Facebook and Website for stories and photos.
