MATT CAMPBELL ON THE ROAR BEFORE THE 24 – DAYTONA 24HR

Germany based Queenslander Matt Campbell has spent some time home during the Christmas/New Years break, but last weekend shot off to Daytona International Speedway for the Roar before the 24 – the practice weekend for the Rolex Daytona 24Hr event.  Its the start of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season which sees the Porsche Young Professional teamed up with Park Place Motorsports in the all new for 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Once again this year we will be partnering with Matt bringing you all his news along with his Audio messages from his event.  He sent through a quick message from last weekend Roar which we have below, plus a post from his Twitter feed – where he’s heading to “Merica” in his words.

To say Matt’s schedule is hectic is somewhat of an understatement – with the Rolex 24hr first, he then heads straight to Bathurst for the 12hr with his Porsche factory drive, then off overseas for a Porsche Fitness Camp, then home to Germany, he’s still got WEC commitments at Sebring in March, Spa and Le Mans (and yet to hear about the 2019/2020 season for WEC) along with his drives this year in the GT Intercontinental & IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championships.

Hear what Matt had to say about the Daytona Roar before the 24 – and we asked him about the banking “part” of the track, “It was cool, steeper than I thought but you don’t notice after a couple of laps” 🙂
