Surelinc Toyota 86 driver Emily Duggan has closed out a strong Toyota 86 Series round at Bathurst with her best result of the weekend in Race 3, finishing in 18th position.
From 22nd on the grid, Duggan made a speedy start and gained several positions in the first corner.
The Safety Car was deployed due to an incident at the Chase on the opening lap. The race restarted with just a single lap remaining, and Duggan pushed to the limits to record her fastest time of the weekend.
“It was a shame we only had a couple of racing laps, as I felt really comfortable and confident. I was able to race wheel-to-wheel against drivers with a lot more experience.”
Duggan’s results placed her 19th overall for the round – her best result so far.
“There’s no doubt this has been our most competitive weekend in terms of speed, which shows we’re heading in the right direction with all the preparation work we’ve been doing.
“There are still more improvements to come, but we have a good break before the final round at Newcastle, where we’ll be looking to finish the season on a high note.”
