ADPV BMW M3 Racing joins the Queensland Production Car Series following a strong performance at the recent ‘Fight in the Night’ Shannons Nationals Australian Production Car Series round.

Backing up from the recent Australian Production Car Series round at Queensland Raceway, where the ADPV BMW M3 ran as high as 9th outright in a 37 car field, the team travels to Morgan Park for the first time.

Team owner and lead driver Jason Simes is looking forward to the challenge of a new track, “it will be great to get out there and learn a new track, something you don’t get to do very often and always creates a new set of challenges. We have also made a few set-up changes to the car since the APC round at Queensland Raceway, so really looking to improve the car and squeeze a bit more out of it”.

Whilst running so strongly at their debut recently in the Australian Production Car Series, minor reliability issues hampered the team. ‘We ended up having issues with the fuses, and mostly through small mistakes of our own’, Simes mentions. “In the first race at night, in attempting to resolve the light bar not working and checking fuses we inadvertently put a fuse back in the wrong slot. The car then wouldn’t start to re-enter the race and it took a long time to diagnose a simple issue. In Sundays race the leg of a fuse was bent and eventually shorted, causing the fuel pump to fail with only 10 or so laps to go”.

With the issues now resolved the team is looking forward to strong results in the sprint format at the Queensland State Championships round at Morgan Park.

‘The sprint format should be a lot less taxing on the car, drivers, and team overall, so we are looking forward to finishing all races, finding a bit  more car speed, and building towards some more endurance events in the near future’, continues Simes. ‘It looks like being a decent field of close to 20 entries so it should be great racing’.

You can catch ADPV BMW M3 Racing in the Queensland Production Cars at the Queensland State Championships, Morgan Park, Warwick on the weekend of 8th and 9th of September.
