Craig Lowndes has take to Social Media to defend his and Triple Eights decision regarding his retirement from full time Supercars racing at the end of the year.

Lowndes and the Triple Eight team along with the newly appointed Supercars CEO Sean Seamer held a press conference at the last Supercar round at Townsville detailing Lowndes’ depature from full time racing.

Since the announcement there has been a lot stirrings on multiple Social Media platforms that Lowndes was pushed and had not jumped into retirement.

Last weekend the Autobarn driver came out on Facebook with the following statement:

“Ok lets set the record straight. I told you when the time would come you’d hear it from me direct. As I said, it was a hard decision to make but it was MY decision. Let’s get on with it, to celebrate and finish the year on a high”
