Make sure you bookmark this page (we assume you can still do that!) this will be our Live Update page for the 2018 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, we will update from Thursday Practice One through until the end of the Grand Prix on Sunday Night.  Our updates will also include information on other Australians competing this weekend besides Daniel Ricciardo.

Mon: 12.pm WINNER OF THE MONACO F1 GRAND PRIX IS: DANIEL RICCIARDO and he did it with an injured Red Bull, he lead every single lap! Tears and grins from Daniel inside his helmet and still in the car, stands on the halo to wave to the cloud.  He was also fastest in every free practice as well qualifying.

Mon: 12.52pm Virtual Safety Car gone, Ricciardo gets good restart.


Mon: 12.48pm CRASH CRASH CRASH Leclerc crashes into the back of Hartley – virtual safety car is out


Mon: 12.41pm 10 Laps left no changes at the top Ricciardo still leading and nursing the car.


Mon: 12.26pm  58/78 laps down – 20 to go nail biting in Red Bull Garage.


Mon: 12.24pm – Alonso car removed under double yellow flags, no SC or Virtual SC required.


Mon: 12.18pm  No change up front but Ferrari and Mercedes weighing up a second stop (should be a one stop race) as tyres going off, Ricciardo tyres seem fine but his power is costing around 20km per hour top speed down in the final sector.  Verstappen now running on the Hypersofts after a very long first stint and is up to 11th.  Alonso out gearbox issues.


Mon: 12.00am Ricciardo power down, think cause maybe battery related, however Vettel in second cannot catch the Red Bull as his Ferarri has graining issues with his tyres.


Sun: 11.53pm Ricciardo defiantly has power issues, he asked team over radio will problem get better, the team reply was Negative! It won’t.  Other teams telling drivers about the Red Bull Issue. 🙂 


Sun: 11.50pm Ricciardo reported “losing power” over radio?


Sun: 11.35pm Ricciardo Pits – no problems with this pit stop!!!


Sun: 11.28pm Hamilton first to pit of lead cars – Ricciardo lifts times knowing Hamilton is on fresh tyres.


Sun: 11.26pm Lance Stroll has come in with a puncture, messages coming from drivers of debris on track “cutting tyres” says Marcus Ericsson.


Sun: 11.22pm Sergey Sirotkin gets a 10 sec stop go penalty due to wheels not being fitted by 3-minute signal on the grid


Sun: 11.18pm Ricciardo sets fastest lap on lap 4 then Hamilton says over radio the pace is quite slow LOL


Sun: 11.14 Good start for Ricciardo – perfect start in fact – leads Vettel and Hamilton


Sun: 11.05pm 5 minutes before start, the grid is being cleared, drivers are in their cars, Ricciardo looking relaxed, its his race too loose, just needs to get the start perfect.  There has been a few spits of rain but word is no more is expected.


Sun: 10.26pm – Whilst we wait for the F1 Monaco GP Start Alex Peroni has sent through to us his final Audio report from the Formula to us (along with the A Typical Monaco party background noise, its great 🙂 )

Sun 8.00pm  Alex Peroni started the second Renault Sports Series race at Monaco in second place and thats where he finished the 25min race, as we’ve seen and heard before its almost impossible to pass at this place.  Here is the race video from Renault Sports.

Sun 12.06am Top Ten after Q3 – Ricciardo the only driver to get into the 1 min 10 sec bracket.

Sun Midnight: Q3 has ended and Daniel Ricciardo has pole!!


Sat: 11.56pm Less than 5mins left Ricciardo almost half a second ahead of Lewis Hamilton in second.


Sat: 11.52pm Daniel Ricciardo has broken into the 1.10’s with a 1:10.810!!


Sat: 11.50pm Q3 has started, just the ten cars now on track which will give all drivers plenty of room, traffic has played a part in both Q1 and Q2,


Sat: 11.40pm Q2 has ended, Daniel Ricciardo is fastest again in this session, set two new lap records, fastest is 1:11.278.  Q3 is up next very soon.

Sat: 11.30 Ricciardo has just set a new track record of 1:11.353!


Sat: 11.25 Q2 has started, Ricciardo looks strong.


Sat: 11.20pm Q1 Ended, Daniel Ricciardo fastest with a 1:12.013 Sebastian Vettel is second and almost half a second behind Ricciardo, with Valtteri Bottas in third.  Q2 about to start.

Sat: 11.06pm Ricciardo fastest so far, was held up in last sector, confirmation Verstappen won’t make qualifying.  Times changing lots up the front.  Stroll complaining over the radio that his headrest is loose and moving around.


Sat: 11.00pm – Green Lights and Qualifying Q1 is underway.


Sat: 10.00pm  FP3 Top Ten – Qualifying gets underway in just under 60 minutes.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo has gone fastest again, pipping Verstappen by 0.001 of a second with a lap of 1:11.786, with the latter leaving his team a pile of work before Qualifying at 11pm AEST.  This may have been Daniel’s face when he saw the 0.001 time he beat Max by LOL 🙂

Sat: 8.52pm Max Verstappen has had a big crash – red flag in FP3

Sat: 8.30pm Half way through FP3 and both Red Bull’s are running 1 and 2 with Max Verstappen fastest and with a new lap record of 1:11.787 faster than Daniel Ricciardo’s time in FP2 yesterday.


Sat: 8.00pm Formula 1 Free Practice 3 is about to get underway, beautiful fine day in Monaco today.


Sat: 6.30pm Alex Peroni has WON race one in the Renault Sports Series at Monaco (Video added)

Young Australian Alex Peroni has won on the streets of Monaco – Peroni leapt away from the field when the lights went out and was never challenged all race long.  (Photos via the Renault Sports Series Face Book Live)  Race starts at about the 16 minute mark in the video.

Fri: 3.08pm Grove Racing – Mobil 1 Porsche SuperCup – Stephen Grove

“Fantastic first day of track action yesterday here at the Monaco Grand Prix. Stephen managed third in class during practice on the tight and twisty streets.Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup qualifying is up today (Friday) at 6pm AEST ahead of Sunday’s race. — in Monte-Carlo, Monaco”


Fri: 12.34 The Formula One teams have a day off today – Friday, the support classes are on track and when we have updates we will share them with you, F1 are back on track tomorrow evening our time for Free Practice Three and then a few hours later Qualifying will get underway around 11pm.

Fri: 12.07pm Red Bull Racing have posted both Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen’s comments from last nights Free Practice One and Two, you can read those here.

Fri: 12.21am Just under 10mins left in FP2 – Daniel Ricciadro still quickest from team mate Verstappen and then the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel with Hamilton next and then Raikkonen. 


Fri: 12.09AM Daniel Ricciardo has set a new lap record and is now fastest with a lap of 1:11.841


Thur: 11.50pm With just under 40mins left in FP2 Verstappen and Ricciardo are running 1 – 2 new lap record of 1:12.035


Thur: 11.40pm Cars back on Track, green flag (break was 15mins)


Thur: 11.35pm Still under red, appears some manhole covers are coming loose they have crew on track welding them at the moment.  Clock has NOT stopped, countdown continues.


Thur: 11.26pm RED FLAG session suspended, track repair needed near the casino.


Thur: 11.25pm Ricciardo now out on track and goes straight to P3


Thur: 11.20pm 20 minutes in and all cars except Ricciardo have been on track, Verstappen currently fastest.


Thur: 11pm Free Practice Two about to go green in Monaco.  No further action against Max Verstappen after appearing in front of the stewards for backing out on the track.


Thursday Free Practice Two for Formula One gets underway at 11pm tonight.

Formula Renault – Alex Peroni Audio Update Thursday – Free Practice 1

FP1 Brief Report: 

FP1 over with a Red Bull 1-2. Daniel Ricciardo finished just under 1 tenth of a second faster than Max Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton brushed aside team concerns about last years pace (or lack thereof) to finish 3rd. The Mercedes driver was 3/10ths of a second of Ricciardo’s time. Sebastian Vettel was next, with teammate Kimi Raikkonen rounding out the top 5. Brendon Hartley was 12th with man of the moment, Charles LeClerc 16th, one place ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Thur: 8.30pm Session End – Ricciardo has gone fastest in P1 – 1:12.126


Thur: 8.21pm And with just under 10mins to run Aussie @Daniel Ricciardo is fastest (1:12.126)


Thur: 8.11pm Stewards looking at Max Verstappen incident where he reversed out onto the circuit after missing turn one, came out whilst Kimi Raikkonen was in the corner, no contact.

Thur 7.49pm With 40mins to run Hamilton has gone fastest with a 1:12.480, Red Bull.

Thur: 7.35pm All cars have now been on track and with less an hour to go in P1, the two Red Bull’s are one and two with Verstappen ahead of Ricciardo.


Thur: 7.19pm Sergey Sirotkin has a right rear puncture has made his way back to the pits.


Thur: 7.08pm Only 4 of 20 cars have gone out so far. Bottas Fastest


Thur: 7pm Drivers are in the cars – session has just gone green.


Thur: 7pm Practice One is about to start, new surface on quite a bit of the track means that the lap record may fall, weather is fine temps around 21C with a 13km wind speed and some cloud about.  The NEW HYPER SOFT tyres will be in use guaranteed to make qualifying “crazy”
