HALL QUALIFIES 22ND FOR MAIDEN BATHURST 1000

Supercheap Auto Racing’s Bayley Hall has qualified 22nd for his maiden Bathurst 1000, completing a busy Friday of Supercars running at Mount Panorama for he and 7-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes.

Hall recorded a best lap of 2:05.1155 aboard the No. 15 Team 18 prepared Chevrolet Camaro he shares with Lowndes.

The rookie continued to build experience across the day, switching between his Super2 car and the Gen3 Supercheap Auto Racing Camaro as he prepared for his first Great Race.

Friday began with the No. 15 entry finishing 26th in Practice 3 with a best lap of 2:06.8929, before improving to 20th in Practice 4 with a 2:05.7100.

Hall then lowered the car’s best time again in qualifying, completing 14 laps and recording his fastest on lap 10 to secure 22nd on the provisional grid for Sunday’s race.

With five separate outings across his Super2 and Supercars commitments, Hall welcomed the opportunity to gain further mileage and was pleased to finish qualifying just over a second from the fastest time.

Saturday’s two practice sessions will provide Hall and Lowndes with further opportunities to refine the Camaro and continue their preparations for Sunday’s 161-lap race.
