Team 18 has secured two places in Saturday’s Top Ten Shootout at the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000, with DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale qualifying second and Snowy River Racing’s David Reynolds sixth at Mount Panorama.

De Pasquale recorded a best lap of 2:04.0538 aboard the DEWALT Chevrolet, finishing just 0.1162 seconds behind provisional pole-sitter Zach Bates, while Reynolds posted a 2:04.3386 in the Snowy River Caravans entry.

The result capped a productive Friday for both crews, with two practice sessions providing further opportunities to refine the cars ahead of qualifying.

The morning’s Practice 3 saw Reynolds and James Courtney’s finish 11th with a 2:05.3248, while De Pasquale and co-driver Lee Holdsworth placed 14th with a 2:05.4827.

Both cars moved inside the top eight in Practice 4, with De Pasquale third and Reynolds eighth.

De Pasquale then delivered a strong qualifying performance to secure second and a place in Saturday’s Shootout.

Reynolds’ session required a late turnaround after he slipped to 17th before jumping up to sixth to  join his teammate in the top 10.

With both Shootout places secured, Saturday’s practice running at 10:05am and 1:10pm AEDT will provide further opportunities to develop the cars for Sunday’s race before De Pasquale and Reynolds tackle their single-lap runs at 5:05pm to determine the final starting order within the top 10. All the action can be viewed live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.

Practice 4: P3 (2:04.8376)
Qualifying: P2 (2:04.0538)

“Busy day for us at the Mountain. A couple of practice sessions and qualifying here late in the day. Practice all went pretty well. Lee got a go in both sessions. I was feeling very generous and wanted him to have some laps.

“It’s been really good. We’ve been able to tune the car the same with both drivers, so we’ve been using that to our advantage. Then I got to have a dip this afternoon and stuck it in the Shootout. That was awesome.”

“Anton did an amazing job. He’s made my job easier, tomorrow I can just sit back and watch the Shootout! It’s so cool for the team to have two cars in the Shootout. Anton wrings the thing’s neck and always gets the best out of it, so that was cool.

“Still a big job to do. We’ve got more tuning to do, and we’ll start tuning for a race car in my session tomorrow. Then Anton will have a crack at trying to tune it for that one lap in the Shootout.

“Great day. Things are going well, but there’s still a lot of water to go under the bridge. Two days to go and a big race Sunday, so we’ve got one more day to focus on before that.”

David Reynolds, Primary Driver – No. 48 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro

Practice 3: P11 (2:05.3248)
Practice 4: P8 (2:05.1225)
Qualifying: P6 (2:04.3386)

“We qualified sixth today, which is an unbelievable result, to be honest. Our car’s been pretty pacey every session, so I kind of expected us to be good, but there was a point in qualifying where I was 17th and going slow.

“I’d run two sets of tyres and said, ‘I can’t go any faster.’ Then the team made a small change to the car and I went six-tenths faster. If they hadn’t done that, we’d have been down the back, so thank you very much, Geoff Slater.

“It shows how much those little changes can make a difference when the times are so tight. From feeling like I couldn’t get any more out of it to jumping up to sixth was pretty cool, and then both cars ended up in the Shootout.

“It’s a great result for the team and gives us something to look forward to tomorrow afternoon.”

James Courtney, Co-Driver – No. 48 Snowy River Racing Chevrolet Camaro

“It was pretty quiet in the garage through the middle part of the session when we slipped down the order, so to come back and get both cars into the top 10 was a cracking effort by the team.

“It didn’t come easy. The times are super, super tight, and everyone had to do their bit to get us there. The change on Dave’s car made a big difference, and he did a great job to put the lap together when it counted.

“It’s going to be an exciting Shootout. It just means Dave hangs them off the mirrors, and we’ll see how we go tomorrow afternoon!

“Both cars are comfortable at the moment, which is a good place to be heading towards the race. There’s still work to do, but it’s been a great team effort to get both cars in the 10.”
