Race 2 – Sunday, June 23
Result: 14th.
Having placed 8th in Race 1, Alex started from pole position in Race 2 under the FIA F3 Championship’s top 8 reverse-grid arrangement.
He held the lead from the start until lap 10 of the 20-lap, 116km race, when one-by-one his pursuers went by as his tyres lost grip.
By the finish Alex had dropped to 14th place, 30 seconds behind winner Robert Schwartzman.
“I led approaching the half way stage until I had issues with my tyres, like yesterday,” said Peroni.
“It was very disappointing, as a podium at least was on the cards.
“We’ll figure out why and come back stronger for the next round of the championship.
“Thanks to the Campos team and my sponsors and supporters. Without them I wouldn’t be able to contest this year’s FIA Formula 3 Championship.”
