The Brad Jones Racing team will do a deep dive into their Friday performance to find some answers ahead of the two longer races on the streets in Townsville.
Laps: 35
- Cameron Hill (#14 Dare Racing GR Supra) qualified 17th
- Andre Heimgartner (#8 R&J Batteries GR Supra), qualified 22nd
- Macauley Jones (#96 AlphaTheta Racing GR Supra) qualified 25th
- Heimgartner moved forward an incredible seven spots over the race to finish in 15th.
- Hill’s crew elected to stop quite early in the race and unfortunately car #14 didn’t have grip towards the end, which meant his pace fell away in the final laps.
- The #96 GR Supra was spun on lap two, which meant Jones had a lot of ground to make up. He recovered well but tyre life proved an issue for Jones as well.

Andre Heimgartner, #8 R&J Batteries Toyota GR Supra
“Alright end to the day, had some decent race pace and moved forward quite a bit, so that’s good. We just need to work on our qualifying for tomorrow. We have some direction which is good. Looking forward to another stab tomorrow and a longer race.”
Cameron Hill, #14 Dare Racing Toyota GR Supra
“Today wasn’t really what we were hoping for. We were just lacking a little bit of car speed, generally throughout the whole day. So, we’ll have to look over the data tonight and see what we can find to go faster tomorrow.”
Macauley Jones, #96 AlphaTheta Racing Toyota GR Supra
“A bit of a disappointing day. Sort of made a big mistake in qualifying. And then in the race, the tyre life’s a little bit of a struggle for us. Got turned around early there which was disappointing and we’re sort of struggling to keep the tyre under me at the moment here and the car’s got pretty pushy balance. So, bit of a rethink for tonight and go again for the longer races tomorrow.”
