The upcoming round marks an important next step for the team as it builds on the strong debut of its Chevrolet Camaro in the 2026 TA2 Muscle Car Series and carries its mission onto one of Australia’s most high-energy motorsport stages. Team Thryv | Race For A Cure continues to turn racing into a platform for purpose, raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Trials through a campaign built on resilience, family and impact. The partnership has now raised more than $300,000 for Breast Cancer Trials.
The Queensland race follows a major high point for the team at Mount Panorama, where Thomas Randle and brothers Ben and Michael Kavich, secured Team Thryv | Race For A Cure’s first outright Bathurst 6 Hour win in the BMW M2 Competition. The result gave the campaign a powerful lift ahead of its next TA2 appearance and reinforced the energy building around the team in 2026.
Adding another layer to the Queensland round, lead driver Ben Kavich will share driving duties with Ben Grice, son of two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Allan Grice. The pairing carries a strong motorsport connection, with the family link stretching back to 1985 when Ben’s father, Tony Kavich, raced with Allan Grice at the Pepsi 250 at Oran Park.
Ben Kavich, Lead Driver, Team Thryv | Race For A Cure, said arriving in Queensland after the Bathurst win has given the team even greater belief heading into the next round.
“Bathurst was a huge moment for all of us. To come away with that win meant a lot, because it reflected the heart, effort and belief behind this team and everything Race For A Cure stands for.
“Now we head to Queensland with real momentum. The first TA2 race for us in Queensland feels significant, because it gives us another big stage to keep telling this story and backing Breast Cancer Trials.“Having Ben Grice alongside me makes it even more special. There is a genuine family connection there, and in motorsport that kind of history means something. It adds another layer of pride to a race that already carries a lot of weight for us.”
Ben Grice said joining Team Thryv | Race For A Cure in Queensland was a special opportunity, both personally and competitively.
“TA2 really appeals to me because it is hard-nosed racing in the purest sense. The cars are tough, the field is incredibly close and the competition is relentless. This event will have some of the best drivers in the country.
“I have spent the last four years in Trans Am, so stepping into the Thryv TA2 Camaro feels like a natural fit, and I am excited to be part of it with Ben. I’ve known Ben since I was a kid, in his early Ute days.
“There is something pretty special about the fact our fathers Allan and Tony raced together. It feels as though we are winding the clock back in a way, while creating something new in our own era.
“What I love most about racing is that when you are out there, nothing else matters. It teaches resilience, look at Ben and Mick winning the 6 hour after 10 years. Ten years of personal pursuit and persistence. They keep adapting and keep pushing. That is something I have carried into business as well. I have run Bang Signs for 10 years in motorsport signage and graphics and that same resilience carries across both sport and business. There is a real synergy there, and I am looking forward to bringing all of that into Queensland Raceway with Team Thryv | Race For A Cure.” Ben said.
Elise Balsillie, Head of Thryv Australia and New Zealand, said the Queensland round was the perfect next platform for a team that had already captured attention through performance and purpose.
“The Bathurst 6 Hour win gave this campaign an extraordinary moment, but what stands out even more is the meaning behind it. Team Thryv | Race For A Cure is showing what can happen when determination, family and purpose come together in a very public and powerful way.
“Heading into Queensland, there is genuine momentum behind the team. TA2 is bold, competitive and highly visible, and that makes it a strong platform for carrying this mission forward.
“At Thryv, we back people who show grit, ambition and heart. Ben, Michael and Toula have created something with real emotional force, and we are proud to stand behind a campaign that continues to turn motorsport into action for Breast Cancer Trials.”
Karen Price, CEO, Breast Cancer Trials, said the continued visibility of Team Thryv | Race For A Cure was helping shine a spotlight on the importance of clinical trials research.
“We are incredibly grateful to Team Thryv | Race For A Cure for continuing to put this cause in front of Australian audiences in such a memorable way.
“To see the team come off a Bathurst win and carry that momentum into Queensland is incredibly valuable. It keeps attention on the vital role breast cancer clinical trials research plays in improving outcomes for patients and families.
“Ben, Michael, Toula, Thryv and everyone involved continue to show how passion can be transformed into meaningful impact, and we are proud to have them in our corner.”With momentum building, a growing national profile and a cause at the centre of every lap, Team Thryv | Race For A Cure will head to Ipswich determined to make its first TA2 series race in Queensland count, on and off the track.
