Young Franco-Finnish driver Marcus Amand has clearly established himself as a promising contender in Grand Touring racing becoming the Porsche Carrera Cup France champion in just his second season at this level. En route to this title, he won in Italy, Spain, and France, while also seizing the opportunity to experience championships reserved for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in other parts of the world. This world-traveler has also reached the top step of the podium in Australia and Indonesia!

FIA Karting OK Junior European Champion in 2019 and then 6th in the World Championship the following year, Amand completed three seasons in single-seaters before turning to a path that has revealed many professional drivers: the Porsche Carrera Cup France, where he became Rookie Champion last year with the Schumacher CLRT team. From then on, the objective in renewing his contract with the team led by Côme Ledogar was to conquer the outright title, which he managed to do by taking three pole positions and winning three times.

“First of all, I would like to thank the Schumacher CLRT team, it was the best choice for starting out and I’ve learned a lot over the past two years,” says the first Finn to win the Porsche Carrera Cup France. “I knew the performance would be there to win this season, but the key in this championship is consistency. I’ve managed to be more and more consistent. I’ve also improved my pressure management, when you have to put in the final laps in qualifying or at the end of the race. Midway through the season, I started working with a physical and mental coach, and that helped me a lot. All the work we’ve done this year has really paid off!”

At the beginning of August, the opportunity to head to Australia came up… somewhat by chance: “Alessandro Ghiretti, who won the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup this year with Schumacher CLRT, went to Melbourne to compete in a round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia with our engineer Benjamin Floch. He was the one who put me in touch with the Tekworkx team who were looking for a driver for a few races. For Indonesia, I was directly contacted by Alexandre Imperatori, the director of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. These experiences allowed me to stay in the rhythm during the ten-week break between Misano and Valencia. This was important because some of my rivals could count a on double, even triple or even quadruple programme. And since I wasn’t competing in the championship there, I could try things, test different settings or approaches to see if they could work in the Porsche Carrera Cup France!

Marcus has impressed on such legendary circuits as The Bend, where he set the fastest lap in Race 1 before winning Race 3. At Bathurst, he qualified on pole position. In Indonesia, with Team Betterlife, he scored two pole positions and two wins! These results illustrate his stunning ability to adapt quickly to different tracks, opponents, teams, practices, environments… not to mention the time difference!

But for an up-and coming young hope, it’s the future that matters. “I’m still in Australia where I am going to take part in the Surfers Paradise event this weekend. Logically for 2026 it’ll be the Supercup. I feel ready to take up this challenge.”
