Andre Heimgartner and Jaxon Evans have finished inside the top ten in Race 2 of the Supercars Championship.

While misfortune struck Bryce Fullwood early in the race, pulling him out of contention after a great qualifying that saw him start the race from 10th.

The Middy’s Electrical Camaro was the only car not to pit just after the Safety Car was called on lap 7.

Fullwood had elected to go around one more time rather than double-stack.

After making his stop under Safety Car conditions, he left pitlane while the red light was displayed at pit exit.

While the team argued against a penalty, Fullwood was given a pitlane drive through dropping him to the back of the field.

He eventually finished the race in 19th but had the pace to run inside the top ten.

Meanwhile SCT Motorsport’s Evans made good ground after a slow stop early in the race.

Evans was 13th as racing restarted and made his way up to 10th with ten laps to go.

The #12 driver was under immense pressure from James Courtney behind for the final 10 laps, but ultimately kept him at bay.

Heimgartner in the R&J Batteries car had made the Top Ten Shootout earlier in the day, and came out of the first pit stop cycle in 6th.

Once he had taken his second stop Heimgartner was running in 9th, an error for Ryan Wood then promoted him to 8th, where he would finish the race.

Macauley Jones in the Pizza Hut Racing Camaro started the race from 18th and gained some momentum after losing time double-stacking under the Safety Car.

The double-stack dropped Jones to 20th, however by the chequered flag he had made his way to 15th.

WIth one more race in Sydney tomorrow, there is a lot to play for for the BJR crew.

Racing gets underway at 16:05 tomorrow afternoon.

Super2

The Brad Jones Racing Super2 drivers have had a tough initiation in 2025.

With both Brad Vaughan and Cody Gillis looking for better car balance across qualifying and the race, it wasn’t the way the team had hoped to start the year.

Vaughan had qualified the #80 Dormer HVAC Commodore ZB in 20th and finished the race in 22nd.

While Gillis was able to make some small steps forward in the race, starting out of 23rd and coming across the line in 19th.

The crew will do their homework to do overnight in preparation for Race 2 quali at 10:35am AEDT today.
