GREAT PR PUBLICITY FOR IRC AT THE 2025 BATHURST 12 HOUR

Opinion piece -John Morris Editor Velocity Magazine

The new Innovation Race Car Series, which will run under the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series banner, couldn’t have got any better publicity than at the 2025 Bathurst 12 Hour.

The IRC cars and older MARC Cars Australia machines numbered just shy of ten in the Combined Sedans category, with all running in the top third of the field throughout the weekend.

Most notably, the cars of Danny Stutterd, Geoff Taunton, Steven Lacey, MIchael Rowell and Keith Kassulke were well inside the top ten and at the pointy end of the field in each race.

The cars looked and sounded brilliant and may well serve as a guide as to the grid for the opening rounds of the series at Winton Motor Raceway at the end of the month.

Steven Lacey even decided to go topless in his Pace/IRC GT SS, in a show that showed the engineering standards in these sleek machines.
The IRC series, as previously reported in Velocity Motorsport Magazine, will run at every round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series, beginning at Winton Motor Raceway over the last weekend of February.

This may well act as a spotter’s guide for many of the dozen or so cars that Stutterd hopes to see at Winton.

We hear that a former QTCC regular, who’s son is a real gun, has dusted off the nomex for a run in the IRC.

Let’s hope it is the start of something good for IRC…
