After a successful debut in late 2022, Lochie Dalton will contest the 2023 Dunlop Super2 series with Brad Jones Racing.
Dalton will steer the #43 Holden ZB Commodore this year as the series welcomes the previous generation of Supercar into competition.
The Tasmanian made his development series debut in the final round of 2022 in Adelaide with Brad Jones Racing.
AWC pty Ltd, which featured on the side of Dalton’s Super2 car in Adelaide, will continue their longstanding support of the local talent, as will Boundless Water.
The young-gun adapted to the VF Commodore quickly; nabbing the Driver of the Day honours and scoring a top ten finish in just his second race.
Over the course of the two races in the South Australian capital, Dalton finished 12th before coming home in eighth in Race 2 on the Sunday.
The ZB that Dalton will race this year is Macauley Jones’ 2022 Supercars Championship car.
Dalton steps up from the Trans Am series where he had stormed to sixth in the standings in his first full year in the V8 powered category.
Doubling up for the year, the 21-year-old will continue to contest the Trans Am series alongside his Super2 commitments.
In preparation for the first Super2 round in Newcastle (March 10-12), Dalton will get his first taste of the ZB Commodore at Winton Motor Raceway on January 24th.
Super2 Driver, #43 Holden ZB Commodore
“Adelaide was such an awesome opportunity and I took so much from that weekend, to get inside the top ten in my second race was pretty special.
“I’m very excited to race the full season with BJR, I’ve learnt so much from the team already and I can’t wait to get in the car for the first time at the Winton test day.
“We get to race the car that the Supercars guys were in last year, so while fans are familiar with them they’re still a new experience for a lot of drivers. It’s going to be a very interesting year.”
Owner, Brad Jones Racing
“I’m thrilled to be able to welcome Lochie back into the fold, this time for a full season in Super2. He’s an exciting talent and he blends well with the team.
“He performed well in Adelaide and we’re excited to be able to give him another shot this year in the ZB Commodore.”
