DE PASQUALE QUOTE
“We made the shootout today, which is always good around here. Qualifying P5 and up there for the race. Once we settled into the race, we didn’t have that much pace on the Hard tyres, and we were okay on the Super Soft tyres and pretty much finished where we started.

“We’ll tune up the car overnight and go again tomorrow.”

DAVISON QUOTE
“It was a good fun race, I enjoyed the battle, I’ve missed these 250km races like that. Without a Safety Car, it’s pretty full-on, so the old-time trial race, you know hearing times and managing weird gaps, hearing 20 plus seconds, but knowing it was going to come down to the last three or four laps is a very tricky way to manage.

“But yeah, we just ran our own race, and it was quite confusing, you don’t know who’s who and trying to keep the time trial and keep your pace up and coming up to cars who were a lap down or cars who started on the Super Soft, it was very easy to overheat your tyres. You just constantly trying to just be consistent and minimise mistakes.

“We all had our run-ins with certain cars on different strategies and maybe a lap down. There are a few areas we lost a bit of time in the second stint but it’s really tough out there, very low grip, hitting the kerbs hard, really hard on the cars and trying to minimise errors.

“We came in very aggressive early, which we had a crack, and we were covering Chaz and we didn’t want him undercutting us, so really that’s what drew our strategy to what it was.

“We’ll go through everything tonight obviously and assess what we could’ve done differently but at the end of the day the team did a good job, we’re a long way from where we were last night, we weren’t really competitive yesterday, but we had a really good car today and took a big step forward. It was a fun fight and a fun race.”
