SUPERCARS TO RESCHEDULE WINTON TEST DAY DUE TO VIC LOCKDOWN
Supercars have just announced that the scheduled Winton Pre-Season test day will be postponed to another date due to the 5 day Level 4 Victoria Statewide Lockdown.
A Supercars spokeperson said, “Due to the recently announced five day, state-wide lockdown in Victoria, Supercars will reschedule the planned test day in Winton to a later date. Further information will be provided once arrangements have been made.” (see an update below)
Premier Daniel Andrews said “The lockdown would last five days from 11.59pm tonight until the same time on Wednesday.
“Victorians will only be allowed to leave their homes for the following reasons: essential supplies, care and caregiving and exercise and essential work.
“Exercise and shopping will be limited to 5km from Victorians’ homes.
“Exercise is allowed for two hours a day with household members, your partner, or one other person who is not from your household.
“Masks will need to be worn everywhere except in your own homes and no visitors are allowed in homes.”
“Public gatherings are not permitted.”
There is also a chance that the Shannon’s Motorsport Australia event at Phillip Island will be under threat as well, Queensland is to shut its border to Melbourne for two weeks which will effect the QLD teams.
UPDATE from Supercars 12:56pm: Due to the recently announced five day, state-wide lockdown in Victoria, Supercars has rescheduled the planned test day in Winton to Friday, 19 February 2021. Further information will be provided once arrangements have been finalised.
