Penrite Racing’s Anton De Pasquale took the round win at Circuit of the Americas last night after an outstanding drive, while teammate David Reynolds finished with a best of 12th.

Race 18

As 31 drivers lined up for the biggest field in eSeries so far, Anton started on the front row after a stellar lap in the Shootout, while David started down in P23.

As the field drove up the infamous hill to turn one Anton slot in behind pole sitter Shane van Gisbergen, however David’s misfortunes continued – the #9 being turned around by one of the Matt Stone Racing Commodores on lap 1.

David managed to race on and found clean air to make his way up to just outside of the top ten before pitting at the end of lap 5. Anton pitted one lap later for a 5-lap run to the finish – Anton taking his eighth podium with a second behind Van Gisbergen, with David finishing in P18.

Race 19

Another reverse grid set the scene for the night’s second race with David starting from P14 and Anton second last.

In typical fashion there was chaos at the start, though both Penrite racers made it through safely – David making his way to 8th and Anton 13th by the end of the opening lap.

They were on the move and Anton caught David to sit 9th before pitting at the end of lap 3. David took his compulsory pit stop on lap 7, while Anton kept Bryce Fullwood and Chaz Mostert behind him to finish off a stellar effort, moving up 25 positions to take 5th place, just ahead of David in 13th.

Race 20

Anton led from the start after scoring his sixth pole, the most of any driver in the series so far. His pole position was due to accruing points from the previous two races for the start of the final 20-lapper.

The scene was set for another battle with Van Gisbergen who started P2. The #99 driver got off the line well and didn’t give the Kiwi driver any room as he lead into turn 1.

Starting P17, David again was caught in a tangle on the opening lap and took his first of two stops on lap 2, while Anton stayed out, coming in to pit on lap 7. David took his second stop at the end of lap 12 and Anton two laps later before a fight to the finish.

Anton maintained his lead out of the pits but a close call came for car #99 late on the final lap.  A collision with van Gisbergen near the finish looked like a case of ‘Déjà vu’, but Anton held on to take his third win of the eSeries. David drove well to manage the gap on a fast gaining Garth Tander, finally finishing P20.
