BAYLEY HALL’S CONFIDENCE GROWING IN BOTH MARC CARS

UPDATE: Bayley has been classified in 2nd place in his Combined Sedans race this morning (Saturday) after the two cars in front of him where penalised.

BAYLEY HALL is relishing the seat time he is getting this weekend at the LIQUI-MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour, in two very different MARC Cars, and with it he’s getting more confident in both with every lap he banks.

Scorching hot conditions all day long tested the teams and drivers, one driver reported to Velocity Magazine it being 79C in their car, outside temps rose to 39C.

Friday saw Bayley in the main game MARC II car 4 times during practice sessions, along with his running in the Combined Sedans of a dual practice-qualifying session where he was placed 3rd in his own MARC 1 V8 Ford Focus, and race one for the event in the late afternoon where he finished 6th.

“Friday was great to get a feel for the car again and resettle myself around this incredible place that Bathurst is. Getting a feel for how strong the aero is across the top is the best feeling ever. I’m Getting more confidence with swapping between categories, he told Velocity Magazine.

“It felt good for this mornings race which was hectic finishing 4th outright and 2nd class which I’m really happy with – no better way to start the morning then doing 275 klms/hr down Conrod Straight what a rush. Yesterday’s practice helped me get used to the speed from the other GT3 cars and realising their strengths and also treating each other respectfully and I am enjoying the experience.”

“It was testing jumping straight out of the Mustang into the MARC I yesterday afternoon with the heat so I’m happy I prepared myself physically as much as I did. I’m so grateful for this experience & I’m learning more every second I am here.”

The MARC II Mustang team sees Bayley teamed up with Geoff Taunton, the car owner and new owner of MARC Cars, alongside is Brad Schumacher and they are teamed with Supercars expert and regular Bathurst 12 Hour driver Warren Luff.

“My time with Luffy is invaluable and I can’t thank him enough for his encouragement, advice and support. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow I have no idea how I’m going to sleep tonight.”

The Bathurst 12 Hour for 2020 gets underway at 5.45am tomorrow morning.  Keep an eye on our page for updates and photos.
